The Contemporary Arab World Center was established in November 2018 in Eötvös Loránd University – Faculty of Humanities in Budapest. The Center’s main objective is to be a strong cultural and scientific bridge between Hungary and the Arab nations. The Center is located in the heart of Budapest at the oldest faculty in Hungary - The faculty of Humanities, all the necessary facilities and supports are directly provided by Eötvös Loránd University to organize and carry out all administrative actions necessary for
its operation.
Some of the objectives and activities of the Contemporary Arab World Center:
1. Organizing international linguistic conferences.
2. Organize Cultural Events.
3. Participating in the improvement of the cultural, scientific and economic relations between Hungary and the Arab countries.
4. Creating a modern cultural image of Hungary and the Arab world.
5. Training a new generation of Arabic language teachers in Hungary.
6. Producing new educational materials and curricula regarding Arabic and Hungarian language teaching.
7. Introducing modern digital technology in educational curricula (cultural innovation).
8. Expanding the teaching of Arabic and organizing language courses.
9. Teaching Arabic to Hungarians.
10. Attract international students and help them get admissions to Hungarian universities.
11. Provide supports for international students (Academic, linguistic...)
The Contemporary Arab World Center has recently signed a mutual agreement with the Egypthian community in Hungary. We are targeting the whole Arab communities in Hungary to establish one common Arabic community. The center offers - in connection with the university - supports for new and old students who have difficulties in their studies or during their stay in Hungary. Students especially the Arabs are always welcome to participate to the cultural, academic events organized by the Center.
