On 5 January, Dr. Deborah L. Loers, Dean of Students of Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa visited the Faculty of Humanities of ELTE to conduct negotiations with Dean Tamás Dezső in what is the opening phase of a process that seeks to strengthen the Faculty’s international relations by offering the possibility to foreign students to live and study in Hungary for 8-12 weeks. “Over the past two years, we have experienced a dramatic increase in the number of foreign students, who wish to study in the rarefied air of academia and earn their degrees at our Faculty. Our Faculty's student to Climb Everest   (2010.03.18.)
Dávid Klein, a student of Philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities of ELTE, is preparing to climb Everest without oxygen cylinders. The young mountaineer is to set off together with László Várkonyi. If Várkonyi and Klein succeed, they will be the first in the history of Hungarian mountaineering to reach the highest point in the world without oxygen. Full story »

President of Estonia visited our Faculty   (2009.10.05.)
On 5 October 2009 Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves came to ELTE during his official visit to Hungary. Memorial Plaquet in Eötvös Collegium
