Australian Consulate opened at our Faculty

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Hungarian government, the Australian Embassy in Vienna, Hungarian diplomatic representatives, Hungarian academics and members of the local Australian community. The ELTE administration was represented by Dr. Orsolya Réthelyi, Vice-Dean of ELTE.

The Australian Consulate is headed by Honorary Consul Cecilia Gall, Lecturer in the Department of English Language Pedagogy at ELTE, who has been involved in teaching and researching Australian Studies since 2001. She is also an active member of the Australian community in Hungary and, as a dual citizen, has close links with her adopted city of Brisbane, Australia. At the ceremony, her credentials were presented by Ian Biggs, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia.
