New Erasmus+ Project to Boost Italian Language Education
On September 1, 2025, the PRO-MATED project (Italian-Hungarian bilingual programs and Italian as a foreign language in Hungarian public education: Teaching material development and innovation) will officially launch. Its main goal is to improve Italian language teaching and Italian–Hungarian bilingual education in Hungarian public schools.

This KA210 – Small-scale Partnerships project focuses on developing specialized teaching materials for non-linguistic subjects taught in Italian, following the principles of the CLIL approach. The program supports the training of teachers working in bilingual institutions for teaching material development, in which the involvement of the Italian partner makes it possible to apply the most up-to-date professional solutions. Expected project outcomes also include the creation of a concept for a modern, multi-volume (A1–B2 level) Italian textbook, the production of a manuscript for one complete textbook corresponding to a specific language level, and the development of sample chapters for the remaining levels.

The project will generate innovative content, methods, and tools that contribute to the improvement of language learning, intercultural competence, and digital education. The project will run from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.

The main activities include teaching material development, teacher training, pilot teaching and testing, as well as organizing an international conference.
