Sciences between Tradition and Innovation – Historical Perspectives / Wissenschaften zwischen Tradition und Innovation – Historische Perspektiven címmel az ELTE BTK Történeti Intézetének NKFIH tudománytörténeti kutatócsoportja nemzetközi workshopot szervez 2019. május 28–29-én. A konferencia a modernkori tudományosság kialakulásának kérdéseivel foglalkozik. Ezek sorában mindenekelőtt a diszciplináris felosztás, a különböző tudományszemléletek, fogalomkészletek, módszertani irányelvek, a tudományos önreflexió összetett problémakörei kerülnek megvitatásra. Mindezen túl kiemelt szempontot képez a régi és új tudáselemek egymáshoz való viszonyának, társadalmi és kulturális kontextusainak vizsgálata.

A négy szekció német és angol nyelvű előadásai egyfelől a 18. századi tudáselőállítás és tudástranszfer folyamatok személyi, intézményi aspektusaira fókuszálnak. Kitérnek továbbá az egyes tudásterületekkel (például: filozófiatörténet, történettudomány, klasszika-filológia/esztétika, államtudományok/statisztika, agrártudományok) kapcsolatos ismeretelméleti kérdésekre, módszertani gyakorlatokra. A konferencia harmadik és negyedik szekciói a korszak orvosi írásmódjainak retorikai dimenzióit, valamint a nyomtatott médiumokban megjelenő antropológiai-etnológiai ismereteket tárgyalják.
