The ELTE Institute of Slavic and Baltic Philology and the journal Studia Slavica are organizing an international conference. The deadline for submitting presentations is June 30, 2026.

The conference will examine the role of center-periphery relationships in the development of Slavic languages, literatures, and cultures, with a particular focus on linguistic hierarchies, literary and cultural centers, translation, identity formation, and scientific paradigms in Slavic studies. The organizers welcome presentations from the fields of linguistics, literary studies, cultural history, and interdisciplinary approaches.

  • Conference languages: English and all Slavic languages

  • No participation fee

  • Papers will be published in the journal Studia Slavica
