Main research areas
My research focuses on 19th century Hungarian history, mainly before 1849, and in particular on the history of politics, parliamentarism and the social history of politics. Mainly how the Hungarian political elite was socialised in the struggles of the reform era in the counties and in the parliament, and how it was able to lead and - as far as possible - defend the most successful regime change in our history in 1848 and 1849. On the one hand, my research focuses on the county milieu and the lower table of the Order's diet, mainly through the person of Pál felsőbüki Nagy. The other segment of my research focuses on the specific world of the aristocrats, the history of the opposition to the magnates organised by Lajos Batthyány in 1839-40.
