Dear Student,
Under final exam, we mean the last big exam at the end of your studies. (NOT the end-of-term exams!)
We would like to inform you that the application for the final examination of the spring semester of the academic year 2025/2026 will be organised in the NEPTUN electronic system. You must apply for the final exam, even if you have already submitted your registration in previous semesters.
Please, note that you can apply only between 16th February 2026 (10:00) – 27th February 2026 (23:59).
If you are planning to take the final examination in the spring semester of the academic year 2025/2026, please, read our guide thoroughly, and apply for the final examination period (21st May 2026 – 25th June 2026) within the deadline (27th February 2026 (23:59)).
To be able to apply for the final examination, you must have an active or absolved status in Neptun. If your status is passive, you cannot register for the final examination.
Prerequisites of taking the final examination*:
- Obtaining the pre-degree certificate (absolutorium = completing all compulsory courses in your curriculum)
- Completing and submitting your thesis via Neptun by the deadline
- Obtaining a passing thesis grade (taking the finals with a failed thesis is not possible)
The order of applications is irrelevant. You can register anytime within the application period. The final exam schedule is organised by the Institute/Department responsible for your study programme.
Please, inform your study coordinator if you are applying for another study programme in Hungary for the 2026/27/1 semester. The goal is to consider the application deadlines during the organisation of the final exam period. The exact final exam dates will be published on the faculty website by the Office of Educational Affairs until 14th May 2026.
In case you face problems with the final exam application, or if you have questions regarding your thesis or final examination, contact us at kertesz.emese@btk.elte.hu.
