Vladimir Cvetkoski will give a lecture in English at our faculty at the invitation of the ELTE Macedonian lectorate.

Vladimir Cvetkoski is a university professor, author, editor, translator, and interpreter. He heads the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies at the "Blaže Koneski" Faculty of Philology at the St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He studied English philology and British cultural studies. He obtained his master's degree in 2009 and his doctoral degree in 2014 from the "Blaže Koneski" Faculty of Philology at the St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. 

He is the author of several studies on literary translation, including:

• "John Dryden from the Perspective of Translation Theory" (2012) 

• "Ezra Pound's Poetics of Translation" (2015)

• "On Literary Translation" (2017)

• "Pound's 'Homage to Sextus Propertius'" (bilingual jubilee edition, 2020)

• "New Breakthroughs in Macedonian Translation Studies" (2025, co-author)

He is a recipient of the international essayist award "The Lyre of Orpheus" (2008) and the "Golden Pen" award conferred by the Macedonian Literary Translators Association (2012). He is a co-founder of the printed literary and cultural journal "Книжевно Житие" (Literary Life), published by the Skopje-based "Makavej" publishing house.

He is the author of approximately 30 scholarly works: articles, forewords, literary translations, prose translations, reviews, interviews, etc., published in both domestic and foreign journals. He has translated nearly 10 books, including novels, poetry collections, textbooks, and professional monographs. He participated as a translator and publisher in projects such as "Stars of World Literature," "Nobel Laureates," and "130 Volumes of Macedonian Literature" (in English). At the International Balkan University, he taught English and American literature, English language, and translation.

At the Faculty of Philology, he teaches translation, interpreting, and English linguistics. He is an author and collaborator on several computer linguistics projects, such as vigna.mk (Macedonian verb conjugator) and zoze.mk (English-Macedonian and Macedonian-English dictionaries, as well as an explanatory dictionary of contemporary Macedonian language, in cooperation with Prof. Zoze Murgoski). He is also a member of the steering committee of the COST action "Universality, Diversity, and Idiosyncrasy in Language Technologies" (CA21167 – Universality, Diversity and Idiosyncrasy in Language Technology, UniDive).
